Gentlemen:-

Your communication of the 18th inst. acknowledging receipt of Check, came duly to hand.

The 50 ft of Pipe has not been received, and as Mr. Calder, forwarding agent, was instructed to forward it without delay, it is quite probable that it still back yet.

I regret to say that I could not use the Pumps & have disposed of them as they do not answer a good purpose for that depth of well. The weight of Pipe and Water is too much for the power; they will do better no doubt in shallower wells.
