Dear Bro:-

Yours of the 17th inst. concerning the children of Mrs. Ann Bennell has been received, I am instructed by the President to say in relation to the matter, that, as the matter is represented, it is most unjust for the woman to be deprived of her children. He said, "let the woman have her children provided "she is in good standing." If she were a woman likely to apostatize take them out of the Territory that would alter the case, but, in any event, the presumption is, that the children are old enough to decide for themselves.
