Dear Sir:--

Yours of the 12th ult. has been received.
    
The facilities for obtaining a livelihood in our community are much the same as in all new countries.
  
As we advance there will necessarily be a demand for talent of the highest order, but, at present, the chances are in favor of the farmer, the laborer & that class who are not afraid of, & are able for manual labor.
    
The Latter-day Saints take for their "guarantee" his promise who said "Seek first the kingdom of God & his righteousness & all other things shall be added."  Whether you will accept this, of course, I cannot say.

We are sending out quite a number of Missionaries this fall, some of whom will no doubt visit your section. I will therefore refer you to some of them for further information on the subject
