Dear Bro:--

I find this morning a letter you sent the Prest. dated Oct. 16 for certain counsel which I read to the President but received no positive instructions to write in reply; although he did remark, that if these brethren agreed to discontinue -- to bear with them. I inferred from this, that he wished to deal as liberally as possible with such, without fellowshipping sin. I was in hopes to have seen you in the City, but as it is I drop you this note, & suppose that as the Prest. will probably see you soon, it might be proper to suspend judgement on these points for the present.
