Dear Bro.-

This is to inform you, that at a General Conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints held in the New Tabernacle, Salt Lake City, on the eight day of October, eighteen hundred and sixty nine, you were appointed & unanimously sustained as a Member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.

And we pray God our eternal Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, his Son, to bless, preserve and uphold you, that you may live long to magnify this holy calling.

You need not return now to receive your ordination, but may remain in England until you are notified.
