The enclosed Check No 374 of this date by Hooper Eldredge & Co on Riggs & Co 56 Wall St N Y for $600. is sent to you to cover balance of purchases and expenses home. Of course with your endorsing it to Simmons, he will take it, & give you Currency for the balance. Indeed it ought to be worth more than its face in Boston, and you will have no difficulty in getting the cash for the balance, I presume. We are hard up for funds, and you are to be as economical as possible.
