Dear Sir:-

Yours of the 25th inst. concerning the transportation of emigrants to Utah has been received.

We do not transport emigrants here as a rule, in the sense you allude to. We have an emigrating fund through which persons send for their relatives, or friends, who remit the money thus loaned to them.

Contributions not made in favor of any designated party, are applied only to assist such as are thought to be worthy & are too poor to emigrate themselves.

Yours with respect.
