Elder Samuel W. Richards

Dear Bro:-In reply to your favor of 27th of December last, addressed to me while at St George, I expect, as it was greenbacks that you borrowed from me to help you out of a financial difficulty,--you will pay me greenbacks in return; and as to your references to the UPRR contract, inasmuch as bro. Isaac Groo did all that business at my office himself, and settled it all up himself, I cannot consent for another person to come and open up the Account again which has been settled so completely.

I trust that you will make an honorable settlement of the amount due me without delay.

Your brother in the Gospel,
Brigham Young
