Bishop Canute Peterson,
Ephraim.

Dear Bro.
Yours of the 15th has been received. We commend your promptness in responding to the call that has been made upon you to succeed Elder W.W. Cluff to the Presidency of the Scandinavian Mission Bro Cluff is anxious to have his wife join him, but she is sickly & as it is a question whether her health would stand the trip, we have deemed it advisable to release bro Cluff so that he may return home some time in May. We think this will probably give you time to arrange business so as not to crowd you. We wish you also to select from 2 to 6 native Elders, such as you can approve, to labor with you and go at the same time you do. We think much good may be done in Scandinavia & are desirous that the work there may be pushed forward. We leave this selection of Elders with you as you are better acquainted with them than we are.

Forward the names of such Elders here, that they may be called in to prepare themselves.

Your Bro. in the Gospel.
