Mr. D.L. Thomas,

Dear Sir,
Yours of the 20th. ult. has been received, and by instruction from Prest. Young I proceed to answer it. The only Bible used by the Latter-Day Saints is the Old and New Testaments. The "Book of Mormon" which you doubtless allude to is a history of the aboriginies of this continent, which the Latter-day-Saints believe because it is true. This work can be had in this City for $1.50. There are works to be had here also explanatory of our faith and doctrines such as "O. Spencer's Letters"; "Voice of Warning;" "Key to Theology;" "O. Pratt's Pamphlets" etc.

I would suggest that $5.00 sent to the "Deseret news Office" S.L. City would procure for you such of the above as would give you the desired information.

Yours with respect.
D McKenzie Sec.
