Mr. Henry Hughes,
Niles, Trumbull Co. Ohio.

Dear Sir:-
A letter over your signature has been handed to me inquiring about starting an Iron Foundry in this City.

We have several small Foundries here, doing a moderate business, but as we do not manufacture iron there is not much to be done at present. We have good, efficient mechanics here and some efforts are being made to get out the iron, but until this is accomplished so that we can make what iron we want the establishment of any more <iron> foundries in Salt Lake City would not in my judgment be advisable.

Yours with respect
Brigham Young
