Elder Samuel W. Richards,

Dear Bro:-In reply to your questions about the interest being rebated in consideration of an amount due you on the R. Road contract having been unpaid some time, I was prohibited by bro.Groo from doing business with any one except himself connected with the Contract, and the matter was settled up by himself accordingly, and he refused at all times to turn anything to your credit or leave anything on the books here for you, asserting that it was not so he could do so, and whether you got your pay from the concern or not, it cannot be brought in between you and me as it is a matter for bro. Groo and yourself to settle.

The amount of interest due on the Mortgage, compounding the unpaid interest monthly, as is usual for bankers here, is $4.365.84

The amount of interest due on the Mortgage, compounding the unpaid interest, at the termination of each year only is $3906.80

Your brother,
Brigham Young
