Dear Bro:
Trusting this will find you in the enjoyment of health and peace I write to inform you that we have appointed Elder Canute Peterson to the Presidency of the Scandinavian Mission, so that you will be honorably released on his arrival in that field of labor when you have installed him into the business of the Mission. He has been instructed to relieve you some time in May.

Other Elders have been called to labor with him, so that some of those now with you shall be released as may be determined on.

We hope this will prove satisfactory, and that you may be permitted to return in safety to the bosom of your family, and share with us in our labors at home. Remember me kindly to your Co-laborers and the Saints generally.

Your Brother in the Gospel
Brigham Young
