Your communication to Prest Brigham Young of the 26th ult. has been received. which he instructed me to acknowledge but it was inadvertently overlooked.

The Prest. does not deal in Washboards nor merchandise of any kind, but he can refer you to "Zion's Co-operative Mercantile Association" where they sell Washboards, your friend Nelson Empy is a clerk there, this Institution has branch stores in every town and village in the Territory. Its Superintendent Mr. H.B. Clawson you will find a gentleman -- in every respect trustworthy. You might send him a specimen of the "Diamond" washboard and state your terms. You manufacturing and giving him the exclusive right to sell in the Territory.
