Yours of the 8th inst. with reference to certain property offered for sale has been received.

I tender you my thanks for the courtesy done me in making this offer, which I certainly would accept were it only to secure the property from passing to the wrong hands; but my present circumstances are such that I have not the available means at hand, there are so many calls to answer.

I expected to have sent you a purchaser or I would have seen you or written to you before this.
