Henry Allen, Esqr.
New York City.

Dear Sir;
Your interesting favor of the 5th inst, has been received; and I tender you, very respectfully, my thanks for your well wishes and the very wholesome advice therein contained.

With regard to the laws of health, and the habits of life alluded to in your letter, my views  are much the same as your own. It has long been my custom to eat only two meals a day, and pudding and milk is one of my favorite dishes.

My health at the present time is excellent for which I feel very thankful.

Should you visit our city at any time I would be pleased to have you call and see me, when we can interchange our views on these points and any other that may present themselves.

In the mean time accept my best wishes for your long life, health and prosperity.
