Dear Sir,

Yours of the 19th inst. was received. At a meeting of our Board of Directors last Wednesday

I took occasion to have your letter brought before them, and its contents were duly considered.

The Directors were exceedingly gratified with the offer of your services, which, from your extensive experience in railroad engineering, they appreciate in a very high degree.

It was the wish of the Board that I should tender you their sincere thanks, and at the same time beg leave to assure you that they shall certainly avail themselves of your valuable assistance whenever they find it requisite.

Yours very respectfully
John Sharp
