Dear Sir,

Yours to Prest. Brigham Young was received during his absence on a lengthy tour, by the undersigned, acting as corresponding secretary for him.

The Co-operative system about which you inquire, is a system of Merchandising which has been in operation here for some three years, but it is neither more nor less than a joint stock partnership of the simplest character, share's are placed at $100.00 dividends are payed semi-annually, and the only distinguishing feature about the Institution is, that the people look upon it as their own, they have implicit confidence in it, & patronize it
accordingly.

Yours with respect
D. McKenzie Sec. Prest B. Young.
