Dear Sir,

By some oversight, which I regret very much, your letter to Prest. Young was mislaid & not discovered until he had started on a lengthy tour through some of our northern Settlements.

So many invitations are received for him to lecture, and his answers have <been> uniformly alike; that is, he has no time to visit outside the Territory; he travels through the settlements incessantly when business will permit him to leave this city, that I believe such would be his reply.

Thanking you at the same time, for the courtesy tendered him, I am,

Yours with respect
D. McKenzie, Sec.
