Dear Sir,

Mr. Richardson is the bearer of Four Hundred 1st Mortgage Bonds of the U.S.R.R. numbered 1 to 400 inclusive, which he will convey to you with the object of procuring your signature thereon, as one of the Trustees of the road.

The Mortgage would have been sent at the same time, but it had to be rewritten in order to correspond with changes introduced into the Bond. We expect to mail it to-night.

When you have signed the Mortgage, be pleased to return it immediately, that no time may be lost in the execution of the instrument, as, before this reaches you, some 15 miles of the road will have been completed and the work is being vigorously pressed.

Yours very respectfully

Brigham Young
