Elder Thomas P. Thomas
Pottsville, Pa.

Dear Bro:

Immediately on the Prest's return from Soda Springs I mitted your letter to him & found that he could not at that time do anything you, as all the donations made to the P. E. Fund had been forwarded to Liverpool, he thought, however, that something might open up, and advised waiting with patience. Since that time he has had word sent him by Elder Wm. C. Staines P. O. Box. N. Y. City) of a balance on hand and now he has instructed me to you, that if Bro Staines can assist you he will authorize him to do so, as he intends writing to him to that effect shortly; in the mean time you are at liberty to use this letter & confer with Bro. Staines,

Hoping this step may prove successful in bringing you to Zion, and that you may have a safe and prosperous journey. I remain Your Bro. in the Gospel

D. McKenzie.
