Dear Bro:

I had a visit yesterday from a man by the name of Mr. J. Stanley Bruner with whom I had a conversation respecting the "Abel Loom." He told me there was one running in the factory wherein he is a partner, namely, Chatter Mills, corner Howard & Berks St. Phil. where you can see it running. Mr. B. remarked that they made fulled goods of every description & were particularly well adapted for blankets. He also stated that a company was being organized (in which he would have an interest) for the manufacture of the loom, the object being to sell the loom & charge a royalty of a cent or two on every yard of cloth they should manufacture. And that a Mr. Thayer had opened, or would shortly open an office & exhibit the loom in Chesnut above 4th St. Phil. Mr. B. expects to return home about the 28th and his plan is to send a sample loose here for manufacturers to test.

Whatever you do about the matter, remember, I am not willing to buy the right to manufacture, without including whatever improvements the patentee may add to it.

Since you left my health and strength are quite restored for which I feel very thankful. Hoping this will find you in good health and peace, I am,

Your Bro. in the Gospel
Brigham Young
