Dear Sir:-

Enclosed please find First of Exchange No. 6594 for $4,500.00 on Wells Fargo & Co 84 Broadway, New York, duly endorsed to your order. This amount cancels six months interest on four (4) of Brigham Young's notes amounting to One hundred thousand Dollars ($100,000) half of which ($2250.00) became due on the 10th inst. the remaining half $2250.00) falling due on the 15th October proximo which make the enclosed remittance a little ahead of the average time, which is satisfactory to us.

Mr. Oliver Ames writes me under date of 9th inst that he holds the first Fifty Thousand ($50,000) Dollars of said notes, and that the interest thereon would be due to him on the 10th inst, and that he holds $100,000 of said notes, being apparently unaware than an agreement was made that the interest on all the notes (amounting to $200,000) should be paid in one payment on the average date of 29th October: I therefore wrote him yesterday that I would to day make the above remittance of interest, which I trust will be satisfactory to all. Enclosed is blank receipt for the above amount which please sign and return, and oblige

Yours truly,
Brigham Young
