Dear Sir,

Your estimate furnished Mr. James W. Cummings for Water Wheel Shaft, Flanges, &c. is before me, also your favor of the 16th inst. acknowledging receipt of mine to you of the 11th inst. in relation to changing the thickness of the rim, & buckets, the rim to 1/4 of an inch & the buckets to 3/16. These are considered sufficiently heavy, and will make a material difference in the cost. As I am anxious to have the wheel running as soon as practicable I would like to have you proceed with the work according to the drawings Mr. Cummings laid before you, observing of course, the reduction in the thickness of the iron. Should Mr. Cummings have carried these drawings with him, you will probably have to write for them. his address is care of B. H. Jenks, Nth. Front St. Phil. When the work is completed, if Mr. Cummings is not present to superintend its shipment, forward immediately addressed "H.B. Clawson, Z.C.M.I. Salt Lake City, U. T." with the mark

B. Y.

Yours with respect
