Dear Sir,

I have the honor to enclose you a document from a few of the ladies of this City,-- immediate neighbors of the writer-- Miss Eliza R. Snow, a poetess of some merit. It is not unlikely this will be followed by other subscriptions from the sex.

If you deem the paper worthy of publication (of course leaving out subscribers' names) I am sure the ladies will take it as a compliment, notwithstanding they modestly refrain from making the request.

Yours wit respect
D. McKenzie
