Dear Sir;

Yours to President Brigham Young of a recent date was duly received. The Prest. is absent on his annual tour in the south, but diligent inquiry has been made with reference to John E. Warner, and the following facts have been elicited. John E. Warner resided in Sanpete Co. in U. T. & was killed by Indians while attending a mill some 12 or 15 years ago. His widow, whose maiden name was Eunice Billings, is now living at Provo City, U. T. She is the mother of several children by him; one of them, a young man about 19 years of age, was in this city a short time since. I have written to Mrs. Warner advising her to send you particulars immediately. Yours with respect

D. McKenzie
