Dear Sir:

Yours of the 16th has been received. The "excursion" party you allude to therein, I suppose to be, some Missionaries from S. L. City to different parts, over 100 of whom have already started, and about 50 more will soon follow. Other than this I know of no party, whatever, from this place.

These Missionaries when they reach the States, Branch off to their various fields of labor, and, so far, we have generally succeeded in getting half fare for them. Every missionary sent from here has his printed certificate properly signed. I have no doubt that those who are married, would generally take their wives with them on these winter missions to the States, provided these could also travel at the half rate. I would be glad to hear from you something definite, that I may be able to tell our people what they can rely on, if they travel over your road.

Yours with respect
C McKenzie
