Dec. 5. 1871.

I did not like sending the foregoing by the mail so I will send it by Bro Musser who starts in the morning. Bro. George Q. left for the East by the 51/2 Oclock train last evening. He had $500.00 from the T. in T. department to take with him for expenses and $400. for other uses (as a loan) & bro. Wells is going to return the $2000. from the City which he borrowed to enter townsite, & he thinks that it should be sent after him -- he is in fact going to return it for that purpose. The defence fund up to this evening only amounts to $4144.85 cash received:  and there has been over Eight Thousand dollars paid out for that purpose.
