Christian Ottison,
Fountain Green, Sanpete Co.,

Dear Brother:-
Your note to President Young with eightysix 40/100 (86.40) currency dollars enclosed, wishing the same applied to bring your wife from Denmark the present year, came to hand this morning.

There is a ten (10) dollar counterfeit bill in the amount which I return enclosed, thinking that probably you might know from whom you received it. I will retain the seventysix 40/100 (76.40) until I hear from you to know whether you wish me to send you a draft for that amount or whether you can get another (good) ten (10) dollar bill to send me for the one returned. I will forward you the draft immediately on receipt of your letter. Allow me to say that the above amount will not be sufficient to emigrate you wife from Denmark, without she has some means of her own, as it will take at the very least ($100) currency for her bare passage from there here

Respectfully
James Jack. Clerk
