H. H. Napier, Esqr.
Osborne City, Kansas.

Dear Sir,

Yours to Prest. Young of the 18. Jan. was detained in the snow bloackade on the U. P. Railroad, and not received here until the 19th. inst., to which I have been instructed to reply.

The pioneers entered the valley of the Great Salt Lake and founded this settlement, July. 24, 1847.

Prest. Young's grandfather was a surgeon in the English Army during the French Revolutionary wars, and his ancestors came to England from Germany.

As these are categorical answers to your questions I presume they are all that you require, but I will merely add that the Prest. was born in Whittingham, Windham Co. Vermont, on the 1st day of June 1801.
