My dear Bro:

Enclosed you will find an order for 50 bushels of Potatoes at the Tithing Store, sent as requested.

My health continues good, for which I feel very thankful; the brethren also with whom I mostly associate are also well.

Nothing new has transpired in the judicial situation since my last, although things are still looking favorable notwithstanding the malice of our enemies. I have never wavered in my faith and feelings that these persecutions would end in a fizzle, and I see no reason yet to change my opinion. The liquor case will soon be decided and with it the fate of McKean.

On Wednesday last our State delegation arrived in Washington, they will make a vigorous fight for admission. You need not be alarmed about our sacrificing any principle of our holy religion for the sake of being admitted; that would be paying "too dear for our whistle" and we would not get it then.

I received a letter from Mr. Hamilton not long since in answer to mine inquiring the price of bees, he wants $15.00 a hive per 100 for brown bees at Bantas, which we decline giving as we can get the Italian Bees laid down here at $10.00 per swarm. He says his son 15 years of age was drowned last June in the San Joaquin river, also that Aunt Diana is still in the Lunatic Asylum at Stockton.

Brigham H. called to see me the other day, his health is good.

Remember me to all the saints and accept my best wishes for your peace and prosperity.

Your Affectionate Brother
Brigham Young
