Dear Bro.:-

Your letter to President Young of the 16th inst., per hand of David Warr, with Thirty-eight dollars in Coin and eighty cents in Currency is received.

You say "I forward to you £8.0.0 or its equivalent in U.S. Money." The above amount would be equal to £8-0-0 here, but when you wish to get £8-0-0 in England it becomes altogether a different thing. You do not seem to be aware that for every £ Sterling we draw on England, we have to send the money from here to meet it, as we have no funds there only as we forward them from here, consequently I had to charge you for the exchange, but have made it as low as I possibly could. The draft for £7.15.0 find enclosed, Please sign your name on the back before sending it to England as it is drawn to your order.

Hoping this will be satisfactory, I remain

Your Bro. in the Gospel
James Jack
