Dear Sir, Yours of the 15th inst. was received to-day with accompanying letter from the Hon. W.H. Hooper requesting the use of the observatory at S.L. City, from June 1st to Dec. 1st subject to any regulations that may be imposed.

The observatory will be placed at your disposal during the time mentioned, or for a longer period if you shall find it necessary; it was erected in the interest of science and it affords me pleasure to have it so used.
