Dear Sir: I was instructed by Prest. B. Young to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 15th ult. with accompanying poem; and to express his thanks for your well wishes. &c.

The poem I placed in the hands of our principal journalist for publication, and deferred writing till it should appear in print, intending to send you a copy, but as it has failed to to appear, I have concluded to wait no longer.

Should you see proper to visit this city for the purposes named in your letter, you will have every opportunity afforded you for making accquaintance with all matters of church polity, general or particular information that you may desire. We court investigation & desire that the truth be disseminated.

Yours with respect
D. McKenzie Sec
