Dear Bro.

I have examined the river above the Weber Railroad bridge; my opinion is that you had better cut a canal across that point about half a mile above the bridge where we examined and decided to cut the ditch, and then have a sufficient number of men at the same time on the other side of the river to put out a wing dam and continue far enough into the river to force a good part of the stream through the ditch or canal above mentioned. In the mean time get some men and have them put good large trees into the stream so as to stop it cutting the banks on the east side of the river. I would advise that this be done as speedily as possible.
