Dear Bro:--

Prest. Geo. A. Smith instructed me to write you that he had a conversation with Prest. Young on the subject of your going to the Sandwich Islands, and they decided that you might consider yourself honorably released from that mission.

You were called simply on the representation of Bro. Nebeker that you would like such a mission, but under your circumstances we think you had better remain at home and provide for your large family.

Your Bro. in the Gospel
D. McKenzie

P.S. Your willingness to respond to the call, however, is duly appreciated.
