Dear Sir:

Yours to Prest. B. Young of the 15th ult. concerning Gas Works was duly received. I was instructed to acknowledge its receipt, and to inform you that a company is now engaged in the introduction of Gas Works here, having recenty received a charter from the City.

The grant is for 21 years, and it excludes all other gas companies for the first 10 years.

The Prest. of the company is D.H. Wells. Mayor of S.L. City.

I should have written this some time since but your letter got mislaid.
