July 26. 1872.

Mr. James W. Cummings.

Dear Bro:-

Yours of the 24th inst. has been received, and in accordance with your proposition therein, to run the mill for the present mill year for the same wages as formerly, I wish you to take right hold and run it.

Prepare to put in a Turbine Wheel, but keep on with the present wheel and shafting till the Turbine is ready. I intend putting in iron shafting from the Turbine clear through the entire building.

Send immediately for the Six Clipper Looms. Keep on purchasing wool, and as much of it as you can, provided you get it at a fair price.

Ascertain the price of a shoddy machine suitable for our business, as I mean to send for one, if it does not cost too much.

Make your own calculations what you ought to pay for weaving and every department of the business so as to leave a handsome margin to run it. You will hire the hands and pay them, part cash and part store orders on Z.C.M.I. as shall be agreed.
