Prest. A.O. Smoot.
Provo City.

Dear Bro:-- We wish you to let Sister Martha Harris of Provo, have assistance from the tithing to the amount of One hundred (100) dollars, see her personally, or send to her and ascertain what she prefers to have it in, and if she requires a portion of it in money, let her
have it.

We wish you also to ascertain the circumstances of Sister Bigelow, who, we understand is in a needy condition, and if you find it so, let her have some clothing and provisions to make her comfortable.

On the 10th inst. the widow of Henry Luke of Provo Valley called at this office, and complained that a case of difficulty between Richard Jones & herself which had been appealed to the High Council of Provo last Decr. and the necessary papers filed by Stephen Markham, had never been attended to. We promised to call your attention to this and request that the subject be brought up at an early date.

Election business and other matters of general news the brethren will inform you on. With kind regards, I remain,

Your Bro. in the Gospel.
Brigham Young

P.S. For Sister Martha Harris the assistance should be in store goods.
Moroni Bigelow's widow wants flour and clothing and something to make her comfortable.
