Lieut. Richard L. Hoxie
U.S. Engineer Corps.

Sir: You will find accompanying this two letters of introduction to parties, either of whom, will I believe answer the purpose of guide very satisfactorily.

Mr. Worthington of Deep Creek is the person I first spoke to you , and probably the better adapted of the two.

Should you think proper to confer with him, a telegram sent by the Western Union Telegraph Co. to Deep Creek will probably find him.

Mr. Lee resides at Grantsville, 12 miles from Tooele City. It would be necessary to telegraph him at Tooele City by the Deseret Telegraph Line. and the dispatch can be sent by a messenger to Grantsville.

Yours very respectfully,
Brigham Young

P.S. Mr. Worthington is very aged and will probably send his son.
