Mr. Heber Young
Soda Springs.

My dear Son.

As Arta is here and about starting north, there is a matter to which I wish to call your attention. It is with regard to my saw mill, which I am informed Bro Edmund Ellsworth claims to have purchased from me. I wish it distinctly understood that such is not the fact. The mill is entirely my property. I wish you to take charge of it, and to sell it to the Company, if they wish to purchase it. The mill has cost me not less than $5000.00 to see it down where it is, but I will sell it to them for $3000.00. Furthermore, I let Bro Edmund have $1500. cash, for which he was to pay me one hundred thousand feet of the very best lumber, I would like you to see that that lumber is forthcoming.

Arta will give you such items of news as are likely to prove interesting.

My health continues good for which I feel very thankful.

We expect to start on Friday morning (a small company of us) to attend two days' meeting at Logan, returning on Monday following. On such an excursion we appreciate the Utah Northern Railroad.

Accept my best wishes for your success, and remember me to all friends, and may peace be and abide with you.

Your Affecionate Father.
