Prest. A. Carrington
42 Islington, L'pool.

Dear Bro: Some 6 weeks ago, Bro Peacock of Manti called upon the Prest. and requested him to order out the Reid family from Glasgow, offering his personal security that their emigration would be paid for when he came to the October Conference. The Prest. told Bro Peacock that he would have me write to you to advise that family to be prepared to sail in the last company as the promise is made to have the full amount paid in by that time, which I now do. Of course if the entire amount is not paid in by that time, there is nothing obligatory on you to forward them. $300.00 have been paid in, and the drafts sent to Bro Reid within ten days, besides which my impression is, he has a credit at the Liverpool office, or else a former draft was sent to him for several £'s prior to these.

The Prest's health is first rate, and the brethren generally are well.

The Prest started for Ogden this morning to return this evening. We visited the giant cut and fill through the point of the mountain south last Friday. English and American engineers pronounce it the largest fill in the world. If pushed ahead the track will be through the point within three weeks. You will be gratified to learn that the iron is coming on in abundance at last. We have enough on hand to carry us to American Fork, and we hear of several hundred tons now on the way.

Kind regards to Bros Gibbs and Bleak. and all friends.

Your Bro in the Gospel
