Dear Brother:-

Enclosed please find Copies of our two drafts of 1871 nos 499 £16. and 528 £1.14.9 the sender Francis W. Argent averring that he has never sent on the originals, having completely lost them, and thinks they were stolen from him about a year ago. In paying these copies therefore it is necessary to so arrange your books as to avoid the possibility of paying the originals if they should come up.

In taking the notes of assisted persons please fill in the Sterling and leave as to insert the dollars here, and oblige
