Dear Sir,

Yours of the 20th inst. requesting for publication a biographical sketch of Prest. Brigham Young was duly received, and handed to me for attention.

I send you the accompanying matter, taken from the Church Records, (being the same as that furnished for another publishing house a short time since) which I trust you will find satisfactory.

The portrait was taken the day that the Prest. was 71 years of age.
