Dear Bro:

Some time ago, I think about June 10. the Hartford & N. York Publishing Co. sent, by express, one copy of their biographical work, the cost on which was $55.00 for the book itself and $3.00 express charges. The price is so high that the Prest. would not take it unless it was ordered. Bro. Staines is here on a visit, he remembers some conversation he had with you on the subject, but not the particulars, he starts back on Monday first, and will call on the company if you ordered it, please inform us, and if there was any understanding entered into about the price, please say so, and it will give the Prest. the proper understanding.

Kind regards.
Yours &c.

D. McKenzie
