Bishop John Sharp
St. Nicholas Hotel. N.Y. City

Dear Bro:-

Enclosed please find bill of iron &c. to be purchased for the U.N.R.R. in accordance with the understanding you had with the Prest. before you left.

The reason it was not sent before this, is, that James could not discover the amount of iron &c not used, but finally he found out last night, a car somewhere in the yard.

This morning a few of the brethren went to Ogden to meet Thos. A. Scott, Senator Sherman and a party of 16 who are paying this city a flying visit. Scot telegraphed from Winemucca to learn if you were in town and received answer that you were in Boston on R.R. business. The courtesies of the road were tendered to them and accepted by the party.

The Prests. health is remarkably good, he is now in the back office with the railroad boards.

All is peace and quiet.
Kind regards and well wishes.

Your Bro in the Gospel
D. McKenzie.
