Wm. M. Landrum, Esqr.
of Landrum & Rogers, Watsonville, Cal.

Dear Sir; Your esteemed favor of the 4th inst. was duly received for which I respectfully tender you my thanks.
I have delayed writing you in hopes to ascertain, definitely, the quality of my goats, before ordering, but as yet have failed to do so.

I wish you to send me a pair of pure breed Angora goats the 7 months old buck describe for one, and also a pure breed ewe; they should be properly caged, and a supply of food furnished them for the journey, and they entrusted to the care of some person for such attention as may be requisite. You intimate the probability that a party will soon be bringing stock through, and as I am in no special hurry for them, I think it better to wait such an opport unity, than risk their loss or injury through inattention.

Thanking you for your promptness in answering my last, and for the information afforded, I will merely add that "your willingness to stake your reputation as breeders" on the goats you sell me being the pure breed is satisfactory. That is the class of goats I rely upon getting from your firm, for that is the class I want & none other.

Yours very respectfully
Brigham Young

P.S. I expect you to put in the ewe at a moderate price.
