Sir,

Yours to President B. Young has been received.

I am instructed to write to you that it would be advisable for you to make accquaintance with the principles of "Mormonism" so called, from some of our elders travelling in the States, or else, write to the "Deseret News" office S.L. City, for one or more of our Church publications. $5.00 will procure for you a good assortment of them including the "Book of Mormon" which costs $1.50 O. Pratt's Works $1.50 Voice of Warning .75c &c &c. I have no idea that you could find opportunity to work your passage through, only as a regular employee.

Yours with respect

D McKenzie
