To whom it may concern,

In the case brought before the High Council by Jeter Clinton charging Lisander Gee and Sherriff Lee with unchristian-like conduct in prosecuting him for selling spirituous liquors at Lake Point, Tooele Co. without licence, and assessing a fine of fifty dollars, and ten dollars costs, and executing, and driving off three head of his cattle to pay the same.

The decision of the Council was, that the cattle be returned to Dr. Clinton, or the value thereof.

The defendants having appealed the case to the First Presidency, we sustain the decision of the High Council that the cattle be returned to Dr. Clinton, or the value thereof, and we further decide that Dr. Clinton pay the fine of fifty dollars assessed against him
