President Brigham Young,

Dear Brother;

Gen'l Morrow wishes to have a Rail Road extension from the Depot to Camp Douglas the same width so that Cars can go to Camp without breaking bulk. He says that it is the intention of the Government to continue Camp Douglas for a Military Post, and to rebuild it with stone, making it to accommodate about six companies; and that either a right of way will be given to a company, or the Government will build one. The right of way will be wanted through the streets of the City, or rather along South Temple Street. I told him I could see objections to allowing it, but he thought the advantages would overbalance all. Mr. Fuller says that he thinks that he knows of parties who would furnish the money, and we retain the controlling interest. The General said that he would see me again in a few days about it, what shall I say to him about it?

I send you enclosed Bishop Rowberry's letter. Bp E. D. Woolley, John H. Rumell and son are going East, shall we set them apart and give them certificates as Missionaries, please answer by telegraph as they wish to start next Monday morning. All is well.

Your Bro in the Gospel,
Daniel H Wells
